Respond Empower Act for Community Health (Reach Every Home)

Study Team:

REACH Program is envisioned to initiate genuine dialogue that propagate accurate and correct information which helps the needy to receive right guidance and appropriate medical services. Snehitas will be provided training programs by eminent doctors on Cancer, Reproductive Health and Life Style Diseases, which in turn each dedicated Snehita creates an optimistic environment by providing guidance to the health needs of individuals in their vicinity.

Aim:

To create the presence of Empowered Health Volunteers (Snehitas) in every community who would listen to women’s health issues and provide appropriate support and guidance. Volunteer Demographics: Self-motivated women of age 25 to 55 years who have completed atleast +2 or equivalent education, preferably representing residential units and use smart phone. Process: By providing one day orientation training on topics pertaining to women’s health and giving ongoing support and guidance through social media platforms. Output: Volunteers enriched with knowledge and empowered by ongoing expert support, capable of addressing women’s health issues in the community. Output will be measured by Pre and Post Evaluations done using web forms.

Volunteer Demographics

Actions and Outcome:

1. Meet atleast 20 women in their community every month to enquire about and listen to their health needs.
2. Provide friendly support to them based on their own sound knowledge and in consultation with experts whenever needed.
3. Refer women in need for appropriate professional help.
4. Create community sisterhoods that meet once in a month and stay connected online.
